2026 ranking

Canada's 10 best casino hotels for 2026

Last revised · facts verified

Plenty of Canadian casinos have a motel across the parking lot. Far fewer are true resorts — a place to sleep, eat, see a show and play without stepping outside. This ranking is about the second kind. We marked twelve properties against six weighted criteria, rooms through to access, and the top ten totals made the cut.

Every score is an editorial call based only on what the hotels themselves and our named sources publish. There's no paid placement here, and no hotel has given us money.

The ten in brief

Fallsview Casino Resort

Niagara Falls, Ontario · since 2004

9.3

Falls views from bed, 3,200-plus slots downstairs

Ask around and Fallsview is usually the first casino hotel Canadians name. The numbers explain why: 372 rooms aimed at the falls, a gaming floor carrying 3,200-plus slots and 110 tables, two theatres (the larger seats 5,000) and 20-plus places to eat. Nowhere else in the country puts that much under one roof with a view to match.

Go for it if: Couples and friends who want the view, a headline show and the tables in one stay, with the car parked all weekend.
Think twice if: Buffet lovers (there isn't one right now), or families whose kids want unsupervised swims — under-12s need a parent at the pool.

Caesars Windsor

Windsor, Ontario · since 1998

8.8

758 rooms on the Detroit River — the largest hotel in this guide

Windsor's Caesars tops this guide for sheer size: 758 rooms over two towers, most of them facing the Detroit skyline across the water. Inside are the 5,000-seat Colosseum (farthest seat: 225 feet) and a gaming floor with 80-plus tables and 2,000-plus slots, and the whole thing sits downtown rather than beside a highway ramp.

Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto

Toronto, Ontario · since 2023

8.7

Pearson-side mega-resort from 2023, right next to Woodbine

Woodbine's casino came back in 2023 as a full resort and the Toronto area's newest big one: 400 rooms, a theatre holding as many as 5,000, a pool with steam room and sauna, free parking and a free Pearson shuttle. Its operator claims a bigger slot choice than any other Canadian casino.

Hilton Lac-Leamy & Casino du Lac-Leamy

Gatineau, Québec · since 2001

8.6

Five-star lakeside Hilton with Canada's best casino-hotel spa

Ten minutes' drive from downtown Ottawa, a five-star Hilton sits beside a Loto-Québec casino between two lakes. Pools heated indoors and out that never close for winter, a 17-room Amerispa, an 1,100-seat theatre and 1,400-plus slots add up to Canada's most complete mix of wellness and gaming.

River Rock Casino Resort

Richmond, British Columbia · since 2004

8.5

Canada Line at the door, YVR seven minutes away, Ramsay steak inside

River Rock wins on access: step onto the Canada Line and you're at YVR in seven minutes or downtown Vancouver in eighteen. Add 396 rooms (with some properly large suites), the country's first Gordon Ramsay Steak, a water-slide pool and a Fraser River marina, and it's an easy recommendation.

Lake country, a 5,000-seat hall and a renovation in full swing

Mid-renovation and better for it: Casino Rama, on Rama First Nation land by Orillia, has been redoing rooms since 2025, opened a ground-floor spa and added three restaurants, Gateway's Atlas Steak and Fish among them. Its 5,000-seat Entertainment Centre still pulls big names north on Highway 400.

Grey Eagle Resort & Casino

Calgary (Tsuut'ina Nation), Alberta · since 2014

7.8

Calgary's casino hotel, with the Rockies out of the west windows

Grey Eagle is owned and operated by the Tsuut'ina Nation on Calgary's south-west edge, and its 178-room hotel opened in 2014. Some rooms look west toward the Rockies, the 2,500-seat Event Centre books big acts and Little Chief ranks among the West's better casino restaurants. The pool, though, is shut during a renovation that runs into 2027.
