Canada's best casino hotels for families

Last revised · facts verified

Kids and casinos mix better than you'd think: the age limit generally covers the gaming floor and some bars, not the building. The real differences are how much there is for children to do — and, at one resort, whether they're let in at all. Our order of preference:

  1. River Cree Resort & Casino8.0

    Enoch (Edmonton), Alberta

Rinks first: two NHL-size sheets with public skating. Since July 29, 2024, every non-gaming area welcomes minors with an adult, and there's a pool with whirlpool, a Luxury Family Suite and a free shuttle to West Edmonton Mall, five minutes off. No Canadian casino resort does kids better.

  2. Fallsview Casino Resort9.3

    Niagara Falls, Ontario

Only the casino is 19+; children can go everywhere else. Under-12s swim with a parent. Bird Kingdom, the Butterfly Conservatory and Clifton Hill are close, and a room facing the falls will impress any age.

  3. Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto8.7

    Toronto, Ontario

A 19+ adult books, the kids come too. The 2-Bedroom Suite sleeps six (fridge and microwave included), the pool has a hot tub, and next door at Woodbine the racing is usually free to watch.

  4. River Rock Casino Resort8.5

    Richmond, British Columbia

There's a water slide in the pool, several restaurants are flagged as all-ages, and the Canada Line puts Vancouver's sights within easy reach. The adult checking in has to be 19-plus.

  5. Casino New Brunswick7.2

    Moncton, New Brunswick

Children stay with an adult, and under-12s are supervised at the pool. Day trips to Hopewell Rocks and to Magnetic Hill and its zoo make Moncton a natural family stopover.

  6. Grey Eagle Resort & Casino7.8

    Calgary (Tsuut'ina Nation), Alberta

The hotel steers families to its Standard Two Queen rooms, Event Centre shows are all ages, and Heritage Park and the Calgary Zoo are nearby. While renovations keep the pool shut, guests get free entry to city pools.

Where kids won't fit

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa admits no one under 19 — not to the restaurants, not to the hotel, not just the casino. At Caesars Windsor, the Augustus Tower is billed as family-friendly and Colosseum shows are all ages, but children can't use the pool.
