Caesars Windsor: our review
Last revised · facts verified
Windsor's Caesars tops this guide for sheer size: 758 rooms over two towers, most of them facing the Detroit skyline across the water. Inside are the 5,000-seat Colosseum (farthest seat: 225 feet) and a gaming floor with 80-plus tables and 2,000-plus slots, and the whole thing sits downtown rather than beside a highway ramp.
Go for it if: Gig nights at the Colosseum and riverside city breaks where you want a wide pick of rooms.
Think twice if: Your children are expecting a swim — only adults may use the indoor pool.
Two towers on the river
Count the beds and nobody in our guide beats Caesars Windsor: 758 rooms. The older half is the Forum Tower; the Augustus Tower is the one the resort pitches at families. Both stand on Riverside Drive in the middle of Windsor, and the view most guests pay for is simple — the river, then Detroit's towers on the far bank.
Room by room
Start with the Resort Room: about 402 sq ft, one king, a river outlook, a generous desk, and a tub and shower kept apart. A top-to-bottom renovation of all 758 rooms was announced in 2018; the Forum Tower's share was complete by September 2019, bringing 55-inch screens, new bedding and fresh carpet. A tier up, the Resort Deluxe Suite adds a wet bar and a whirlpool tub. The Junior Suite gives you a separate living room — whirlpool included only on the Forum side. At the top, the Executive Suite has a marble five-piece ensuite, a television built into the mirror, its own butler door and, in certain suites, a fireplace.
In at 4 pm, out at 11 am. One cost to plan for: our run through the booking page showed a $23.40 nightly resort fee, charged when you check out.
The floor
Figures here come from an August 2023 fact sheet: 2,000-plus slots, 80-plus tables (including a craps game Caesars billed as the only live one in Ontario), a room set aside for World Series of Poker play and a 1,700 sq ft Caesars Sportsbook lined with 22 large screens. You'll need to be 19 for the casino and its bars. Caesars Rewards members get Colosseum presale access on top of the usual perks.
The Colosseum
For many drivers heading to Windsor, the destination is really this 5,000-seat hall. The farthest seat is 225 feet from the stage, by the resort's measure. A July 2026 notice made it official that shows admit all ages unless a specific event says otherwise. Alice Cooper was on the schedule for Friday, November 6, 2026 when we checked.
Food and bars
Dress up for Neros Steakhouse; dress down for the rest. Café 377 covers breakfast and lunch, Spago Trattoria serves Italian for the whole family, and Johnny Rockets and Legends Sports Bar do what you'd expect. A Tim Hortons on the main floor of the Forum Tower never shuts. For drinks, Vu Bar has the skyline and Cosmos Lounge has local musicians on Fridays and Saturdays. The ARIIUS nightclub is no longer in the building — it relocated to Ouellette Avenue in January 2026 — so clubbing means leaving the resort.
Pool policy
Grown-ups only at the indoor pool, which comes with a large whirlpool, lounge chairs and towels on hand. Hotel guests also have a sauna and a fitness area. A spa wasn't among the amenities listed when we reviewed it.
Getting in and parking
From Windsor International Airport, downtown is a short taxi hop. Parking is back to normal: the six-floor garage at 257 Glengarry Avenue reopened completely on July 8, 2026, after repairs that took more than a year. Crossing from Detroit? The Tunnel Bus, a private service, drops you at McDougall and University, near the resort — $15, and cards only.
Our call
Book it around a Colosseum date or a short downtown break where room choice matters. It suits couples best. Families do fine in the Augustus Tower as long as swimming happens elsewhere, because children can't use the pool.
Quick answers before you book
Are kids allowed in the Caesars Windsor pool?
No. The resort's fact sheet describes it as an adult-only indoor pool with a whirlpool hot tub.
Can someone under 19 see a Colosseum show?
Usually, yes. The resort says Colosseum events are all ages unless the individual show states a restriction; the casino and related bars stay 19+.
What is the resort fee at Caesars Windsor?
$23.40 per night on the booking page we looked at, payable at checkout.
